Adolphus Washington's solicitation arrest has resulted in a bowl game suspension.
Ohio State coach Urban Meyer released a one-sentence statement Friday morning that said Washington had been suspended for the Fiesta Bowl vs. Notre Dame for a violation of team policy. Washington was cited for solicitation Wednesday night.
The charge is a first-degree misdemeanor and the team said discipline would be handled internally. Washington is due in court in December. He released an apology after the arrest and said he would accept the consequences that came his way.

While the bowl game looks a harsh punishment, it's same to the suspension that quarterback J.T. Barrett served earlier in the year when he was cited for OVI. Barrett missed Ohio State's game against Minnesota.
Washington had 49 tackles and four sacks in 2015. He was a second-team All-Big Ten selection.
The Fiesta Bowl kicks off at 1 p.m. ET on January 1. Ohio State resumed practice in preparation for the game on Friday.
