Two star cornerbacks have decided to forgo their senior seasons and enter the NFL draft.

Notre Dame’s KeiVarae Russell and West Virginia’s Daryl Worley both announced they were leaving. Russell made his announcement to Sports Illustrated.

Russell, who missed all of 2014 after an honor code violation, was reinstated for 2015 and made 60 tackles, including 3.5 for loss, had two interceptions and six pass breakups. However, he had a nagging lower leg injury that resulted in a broker right tibia against Boston College, which caused him to miss the final two games of the season.

Russell told Sports Illustrated he would not take part in the physical portion of the NFL Combine, but that he would participate in Notre Dame pro day in March.

“I will be healed in the next few days, but I want to be able to perform at my best with the same amount of training (others will have),” Russell said. “I want to get back to where I was and I feel like when I come back, I’m going to come back stronger.”

Worley made his announcement via his Twitter account. He finished the year with 49 tackles, two tackles for loss, six interceptions and a team-high 12 pass breakups.
