Bryce Dixon, a former tight end for USC, was arrested for carjacking Tuesday afternoon in an incident that happened approximately a half-mile from the school's campus.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the arrest was made as part of an investigation into multiple robberies.

"He was taken into custody in connection with a series of robberies in Los Angeles and Ventura County," said Capt. Andrew Neiman, an LAPD spokesman.

Dixon, 19, was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail at the 77th Street station jail. The investigation by detectives into the incident remains ongoing.

Dixon was charged with suspicion of felony carjacking.

He was a member of USC's football team in 2014 but not in 2015. He was expelled in the spring following a Title IX sexual misconduct investigation by the school. Dixon appealed the decision and was allowed to enroll in school for the fall semester after he was granted a stay by a judge. However, he was unable to rejoin the football team. The investigations stemmed from two allegations of incidents with a female student trainer for the football team.

Dixon had 14 catches for 198 yards and four touchdowns in 2014. He was the No. 5 tight end in the class of 2014 and a four-star recruit according to Rivals.
