Oregon State starting quarterback Seth Collins has been granted his transfer.
Collins started seven games for the Beavers before suffering a knee injury prior to a contest against Utah. He returned at the end of the season to play in the Civil War game against Oregon.
However, Oregon State coach Gary Andersen had planned to move Collins to receiver with Utah State transfer Darell Garrettson taking the lead in the spring quarterbacking race.
Collins finished his Oregon State career with 936 passing yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions. He also rushed for 580 yards and eight scores for the 2-10 Beavers.
Collins is the second Oregon State starting quarterback to leave the program. Nick Mitchell, who started five games, transferred at the end of fall term.
Garrettson and sophomore Marcus McMaryion are the only quarterbacks on the Beavers’ roster for the spring.
Per NCAA rules, Collins would have to sit out a year if he wanted to play for another FBS program. He could play immediately if he went to a lower division. Collins, a freshman, does have a redshirt season available.
