Buffalo defensive end Solomon Jackson suffered a “medical emergency” during a Monday conditioning drill.
According to the UB Spectrum, Jackson is in critical condition at Buffalo General Medical Center. A university spokesperson confirmed that Jackson was hospitalized Monday morning, but did not offer specifics about his condition, citing federal privacy laws.
“Solomon Jackson, a member of UB’s football team, was transported to the hospital this morning after a medical emergency at a team conditioning session,” UB spokesperson John Della Contrada said in a statement. “The university is in touch with Solomon’s family and hospital medical staff.”
A hospital spokesperson confirmed to the Buffalo News on Tuesday morning that Jackson was listed as a patient.
As a redshirt sophomore in 2015, the 6-foot-2, 250-pound Jackson appeared in 12 games and registered 13 tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks. A native of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Jackson also had three tackles and a fumble recovery in 2014.
