The Wolfpack announced Monday that Ryan Finley has enrolled for the school’s first summer session after graduating from Boise State. Finley will have two seasons remaining and is eligible to compete immediately. At NC State, Finley will reunite with new NC State offensive coordinator Eli Drinkwitz, who spent the past two seasons in the same role at Boise State.

“I’m excited to be a part of the Wolfpack and this new family,” Finley said in a release. “I cant wait to get to work.”

Finley started the first three games of the 2015 for the Broncos before a broken ankle sidelined him the rest of the season. True freshman Brett Rypien emerged as Boise’s starter in Finley’s absence, earning first-team all-Mountain West honors. Finley returned for spring ball, but could not beat out Rypien for the starting role, so he decided to pursue other opportunities.

Overall, Finley saw action in eight games over the past two seasons and threw for 646 yards, three touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 59.8 percent of his passes.

At NC State, Finley is slated to compete with sophomore Jalan McClendon and redshirt freshman Jakobi Meyers for the starting gig. McClendon served as the No. 2 QB for the Wolfpack in 2015 behind New England Patriots draft pick Jacoby Brissett while Meyers redshirted.

Finley wasn’t the only graduate transfer addition announced by NC State on Monday. The program also confirmed that center Joe Scelfo has joined the program.

The 6-foot-1, 305-pound Scelfo earned first-team All-Sun Belt honors at South Alabama in 2015, making 12 starts. Scelfo also started all 13 games as a redshirt sophomore in 2014 and 10 games as a redshirt freshman in 2013.

“I’m very excited for this opportunity,” Scelfo said in a release. “This is a great place and I’m so happy to be here.”
