Former LSU WR Trey Quinn will transfer to SMU

Trey Quinn is headed to the AAC.

Quinn, who announced his intention to leave LSU in February, told NOLA.com that he will transfer to SMU. Quinn, a 6-foot, 197-pound wide receiver, will have two years of eligibility remaining after sitting out the 2016 campaign per NCAA transfer requirements.

Quinn showed flashes during his time at LSU but saw his production fall off in 2015. As a true freshman in 2014, Quinn played in all 13 games, starting seven, and caught 17 passes for 193 yards. Quinn played in every game in 2015, but had only five catches for 83 yards.

Quinn is a solid pickup for SMU coach Chad Morris, who is entering his second year with the Mustangs after coming over from Clemson.

The Lake Charles, Louisiana, native was a top 75 recruit in the 2014 class who should be a nice fit in Morris’ fast-paced system.
