The Foster Farms Bowl is under new management.
The San Francisco 49ers announced Tuesday that the franchise would take over the bowl game from the San Francisco Bowl Game Association.
The matchup between the Pac-12 and Big Ten, which has been televised on ESPN, will be on Fox Sports for the next four seasons.
“The 49ers organization champions the development of football at all levels and we are honored to help support the storied history of Bay Area college football by presenting the Foster Farms Bowl annually at Levi’s Stadium,” Jamie Brandt, the new executive director of the bowl, said in a statement. “Backed by our tremendous partners at the Pac-12, the Big Ten, FOX Sports and Foster Farms, we look forward to celebrating the importance of amateur athletics while continuing our ongoing efforts to aid those in our community who are in need.”

The Foster Farms Bowl was first played in 2002 and was at AT&T Park, the home of the San Francisco Giants. When the game was at the baseball stadium, the teams had to share the same sideline.
It moved to Levi’s Stadium in 2014 when the 49ers opened the new facility. Nebraska beat UCLA in the 2015 version of the game. This year’s bowl will be played on December 28.
