LSU, Fournette say parking lot 'fight' video is simply joking around

UPDATE (7:30 p.m. ET)

Fournette concurred with LSU but still issued an apology for the video via Twitter.

A video showing LSU running back Leonard Fournette and offensive lineman Garrett Brumfield mimicking boxers in a parking long is isn’t serious, according to LSU.

TMZ Sports published this video Wednesday and left open the possibility that the “fight” was a fight that didn’t need quotation marks around it.

Here’s an LSU spokesperson’s definition of the video via the Baton Rouge Advocate:

In the video, Fournette and teammate Garrett Brumfield square off in a game where, Bonnette said, “they basically have to touch the other person twice.”

“What you don’t see is when the video cuts off, they hug it out. They’re not mad at each other. No one was injured,” Bonnette said.

Crisis averted, LSU fans. This appears to simply be an incident of college males messing around and serves as another reminder that so many more moments of our lives are being filmed than they ever were.

Though we do wonder if this affects Fournette’s odds for the Heisman at all.
