Syracuse quarterback Eric Dungey was greeted by a familiar face when he arrived at the Carrier Dome late Friday afternoon.
Eric’s older brother, Matt, on leave from his service in the U.S. Army, surprised Eric before the Orange’s season opener Friday night against Colgate.

Per Syracuse.com, Matt is stationed in Germany and recently received a month off. Eric had no idea his brother would be there, and the two had an emotional embrace. The two hadn’t seen each other since Christmas 2014.

Dungey emerged as Cuse’s starter midway through the 2015 season after a rash of injuries at the position. He threw for 1,298 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions. He also rushed for 351 yards and five scores. He’ll undoubtedly surpass those numbers running new head coach Dino Babers’ high-powered offense.
