Nebraska lined up with 10 men to honor Sam Foltz (Video)

The Nebraska Huskers took the field with heavy hearts Saturday night.

In the first game since the passing of punter Sam Foltz, his teammates honored him by lining up with only 10 players on what would have been the Huskers’ first punt of the season. It was an emotional moment for all.

The Huskers were flagged for delay of game on the play, but, in a classy move, Fresno State declined the penalty.

And to top it off, a rainbow was seen over Memorial Stadium in the first half.

Foltz, a native of Greeley, Nebraska, was a beloved member of the Nebraska team. He was killed in a car accident in Wisconsin on July 23 alongside former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler. The two were riding in a car with LSU kicker Colby Delahoussaye after a kicking camp. Delahoussaye survived with minor injuries and kicked in LSU’s season opener Saturday against Wisconsin.

Nebraska has created a scholarship in Foltz’s name and will wear Foltz decals on their helmets for the duration of the 2016 season.
