LSU will honor Mike VI with a helmet decal this weekend.
Mike, LSU’s live tiger mascot, was euthanized Tuesday after a bout with spindle cell sarcoma, a rare cancer. To go with the special uniform combination planned for the game, a “VI” decal has been added to the team’s white helmet.

Mike was first diagnosed with cancer in May and underwent a radiotherapy treatment on June 1. However, LSU said earlier this month that Mike’s cancer had spread and the tiger was put into hospice care. Soon after, Mike, who came to LSU in 2007, was euthanized. He was 11 years old.
