That’s seven-year-old Maddox McCollum, who wears Boulware’s No. 10 on his local football team in Anderson, South Carolina, where Boulware grew up. Maddox’s dad, Marlin McCollum, told ESPN.com his son wore the costume to his school’s fall carnival last week. A teacher at the school took his picture, and another teacher posted it to Facebook.
“We decided because he had real pads and a jersey, his toy Clemson helmet wouldn’t go with the costume,” Marlin McCollum told ESPN.com. “Maddox was in a play this summer that he wore the beard in, so we went with that. He wanted the haircut, and the tattoo was a last-minute addition.”
