With signing day around the corner, Mike Harley, a four-star wide receiver from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is down to two schools: West Virginia and Miami.
Harley made a verbal commitment to West Virginia back in June, but an offer from Miami last month shook up his recruitment a bit.
After he helped St. Thomas Aquinas win the Florida Class 7A state title over the weekend, Harley admitted to the Orlando Sentinel he is “50-50” between WVU and Miami as his college choice. Coincidentally, the Mountaineers and Hurricanes will meet on the field in the Russell Athletic Bowl on Dec. 28, and that game could impact Harley’s decision.

“It’s 50-50 right now, West Virginia and Miami, but you know they play in a bowl game and that plays a big role for me,” Harley said, per the Sentinel.
He went a step further when speaking with 247Sports.com.
“Miami and West Virginia play a bowl game so I’m going to determine off of that,” Harley said. “Whoever wins that’s where I’m going. It’s about the coaches at the end of the day.”
Perhaps he was just caught up in the moment and speaking in jest after winning a state title. He tweeted this Monday:

Harley is rated by Rivals.com as a four-star recruit and the 26th-best receiver in the country. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound Harley moved up from No. 222 to No. 164 nationally in the Rivals250 for the 2017 class, so he would be quite a nice addition for either the 10-2 Mountaineers or 8-4 Hurricanes.
He will reportedly be in attendance for the game.
