Texas A&M wide receiver Speedy Noil was reportedly booked and released on marijuana possession charges after police responded to a noise complaint at an apartment on Dec. 16.
A warrant had been issued for his arrest, he already has posted $2,000 bond and has been released, according to CSPD: https://t.co/Xs8EAAEMN8

According to a College Station Police Department probable cause statement, an officer arrived at an apartment complex near midnight after a neighbor called the police. The school said Tuesday afternoon that Noil had been indefinitely suspended.

The officer said he smelled marijuana as he went to the address provided by the complainant and spoke to Noil outside the apartment. The officer said Noil opened and shut the door quickly to let himself outside and “regardless of this quick opening and shutting of the door, the distinct and strong odor of marijuana was observed to be emitting from within the apartment.”

Noil, a five-star wide receiver in the class of 2014, allegedly didn’t consent to a search of the apartment, and officers obtained a warrant. After getting the warrant, officers found marijuana in a cigar package in the kitchen and a blunt in a closet.
Texas A&M plays Kansas State in the Texas Bowl on Dec. 28. If Noil misses the game due to disciplinary reasons, it’ll be the second-straight bowl game he’s missed. He was suspended for the 2015 Music City Bowl, a suspension that also carried over into the first game of the 2016 season vs. UCLA. The Music City Bowl was his second suspension of 2015.
Noil has 21 catches for 325 yards and two touchdowns in 2016. After a productive freshman season that accounted for 46 catches for 583 yards and five touchdowns, Noil has tailed off over his sophomore and junior campaigns. In the past two years combined he has 42 catches for 551 yards and four scores.
