Suspending a starting defensive player isn't what Oregon football wanted to be dealing with during its bye week.

Defensive tackle Isaac Remington was suspended from the Oregon team indefinitely after he was ticketed for DUII (driving under the influence of intoxicants) on Friday morning, the Eugene Register-Guard reported. He was taken into custody but not jailed, a tweet from the paper's police reporter stated.

Remington, who is married with a young son, was suspended "pending clarification of an incident that happened Friday morning," the Ducks announced.

Remington is a starter for a team with legitimate national championship aspirations, and his backup is true freshman Arik Armstead. We'll see what Remington's suspension looks like after coach Chip Kelly gets clarification on what happened.
