Florida linebacker Daniel McMillian, a senior in 2016, was arrested Thursday evening on kidnapping and sexual assault charges.
According to the Gainesville Police Department, a woman came to his house for “legitimate professional reasons.” Once she was inside, he allegedly tried to lock her inside and exposed himself.
The victim asked to leave, but McMillan allegedly approached her and grabbed her. The report states she kicked McMillian, unlocked the door, while sustaining a small scratch on her arm, and ran to safety.
According to the report, the alleged victim was “physically shaking and hysterically crying” while she recounted the incident to officers.
Both the sexual assault charge and the kidnapping charge are felonies and McMillian’s bond has been set at $40,000.
McMillian had 29 tackles in 12 games in 2016. He had one tackle for loss and his lone interception on the season came in Florida’s win over Iowa in the Outback Bowl. He had 23 tackles in 2015 as a junior and was primarily a special teams player for the Gators in his first two years with the program.
Per the Sentinel, he was a participant in Florida’s pro day on March 28 in preparation for May’s NFL draft.
