Looking for the touchdown of the day?
Well, we have a pretty good candidate right here from Ole Miss and running back Jeff Scott.
Scott caught a pass from quarterback Bo Wallace and appeared to be tackled for a reasonable gain. But coaches always stress never giving up on a play, so Scott rolled over his Auburn defender, popped up and went streaking toward the end zone.
And it ended up being a great heads-up play by Scott.
Upon further review and many replays, Scott's rear end actually landed on the defender's arm and never hit the ground. While the rest of the players on the field stopped, Scott kept rolling to the end zone.
It was a great heads up play and if it isn't the touchdown of the day, it's at least the touchdown of the early games.
