Tennessee quarterback Tyler Bray had to apologize Sunday for a tweet he sent following the Vols' 41-31 loss to Mississippi State.

Here's what Bray tweeted: "We got some bandwagon fans. Hopefully my apt. Isn't egged."

The tweet was ultimately deleted, but not before it had been retweeted several hundred times.

Bray was referring to an incident that happened two weeks ago when Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray came home to find his house egged and rolled with toilet paper following a 35-7 loss to South Carolina.

Bray issued this apology via Twitter on Sunday: "Just want to apologize for my tweet last night. Was just frustrated after the tough loss. Sorry VOL nation."

Tennessee coach Derek Dooley defended his quarterback during his Monday press conference, but also said he spoke with him about tweeting after such an emotional game.

"It could have been a good tweet if he had left out the first part. It had a little humor to it," Dooley said. "When you're lonely, angry or hurt, don't type. Because you can't take it back."
