Rutgers took a break from preseason camp on Sunday night and was treated to a surprise musical guest.
During a team barbecue at a booster’s house, the Scarlet Knights were paid a visit by hip-hop group Migos, one of the most popular acts in the country. Naturally, the players were totally thrilled.

Rutgers is entering its second season under Ash, who came over after serving as Ohio State’s defensive coordinator. Ash inherited a rebuilding project as the team went 2-10 in his first season. It’s an uphill climb, but things like this will certainly bring the program some positive attention, especially in recruiting.
Oh, and if you were wondering how Rutgers got Migos for a private performance, NJ.com is reporting the performance fee was “was privately funded and not charged to the university or athletics.”
The Scarlet Knights open up the 2017 season at home against Pac-12 champions Washington on Sept. 1.
