Lane Kiffin celebrated a touchdown mid-play like he did at Alabama (Video)

Lane Kiffin did it again.

A few times during his tenure as offensive coordinator at Alabama, Kiffin would raise his arms in celebration mid-play, knowing the play he called was about to result in a touchdown. On Friday night during his first game as head coach at Florida Atlantic, Kiffin successfully predicted a touchdown once again.

Watch the bottom of the screen as FAU quarterback Daniel Parr launches a deep ball to receiver Willie Wright behind the defense. Kiffin already has his arms raised in triumph and begins running in celebration up the sideline while the ball is still in the air.

Here’s what it looked like from field level.

Good thing Wright caught the ball, or else Kiffin would have looked silly.

Kiffin got some attention for doing this during Alabama’s title run in 2015. He explained to USA Today that he raises his arms in the air quite often. It only looks cool when his offense actually scores.

“I do that 30 times a game. They only show it when it works,” he said. “A lot of times I just, I’m not, I don’t even know I’m doing it really. It’s just in my head that they’re in this coverage and so there’s an excitement because you’re calling plays to get a defense.

“If we get this defense, we’re going to score. As long as we execute it and make the throw. And so there’s times that you can tell what they’re in so that you know, okay, this is going to work.”

That doesn’t make it look any less cool:
