Auburn tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen left Saturday's game against Vanderbit with an injury and then took to Twitter to tell the nation that his career as a Tiger was over.
Lutzenkirchen posted heartfelt messages both explaining his injury and thanking fans — all SEC fans — for their support during his four-year career. Coach Gene Chizik told media Lutzenkirchen was out for the season, but didn't specify the injury. Lutzenkirchen said on Twitter that it was a hip injury that started during fall camp.
Classy of Lutzenkirchen to reach out to his Twitter followers and show some love. We wish him a speedy recovery and luck in his future endeavors.
