In Notre Dame lore, there was no better motivator than former coach Knute Rockne.
His “Win one for the Gipper” speech that he gave during halftime of the 1928 game against Army is one of the most famous and inspirational speeches ever delivered on any athletic stage.
So, some former Notre Dame players decided to reenact it for the team that will play against Alabama in Monday’s BCS National Championship. Tony Rice, Irv Smith, Rick Mirer, Steve Beuerlein, Reggie Brooks, Shawn Wooden, Derrick Mayes and Anthony Fasano all participated in this tribute, which is part of Adidas’ “all-in” campaign.
It’s actually pretty good.
