MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. –Even when things have gone right for Notre Dame in the BCS National Championship, they’ve ultimately turned horribly wrong.
Alabama safety HaHa Clinton-Dix made sure of that with a spectacular interception at the Alabama 3-yard line to thwart a potential Notre Dame scoring drive.
[You make the call at BCS title game: Kick-catch interference or a fumble?]
On the first drive of the second half, the Irish appeared on its way to points when quarterback Everett Golson attempted a deep pass to receiver DaVaris Daniels. The ball was tipped by cornerback Dee Milliner and Clinton-Dix flew over both players to snag the ball out of the air while somehow getting a foot in bounds (thanks to throwtheflagblog.com for video).
It was just one of the many fantastic plays Alabama has made Monday evening at Notre Dame’s expense.
