While the state of New Jersey continues to recover from Hurricane Sandy, the state school, Rutgers, is doing its part to help.

Rutgers announced on its Twitter feed Tuesday that it’s players would wear special jerseys and helmets during the spring game on April 27 to help raise money for disaster relief. Each jersey will feature the name of one of 90 different town affected by the disaster. The helmets each have the word “STRONG” over a picture of the state of New Jersey.

All proceeds from the game will go to benefit the Sandy Relief Fund.

This isn’t the first relief effort Rutgers has initiated. The university also sold shirt with “R-Strong” printed on them and have raised more than $148,000 for victims from those sales.

This is a touching and unique tribute to a state that's still trying to rebuild. Kudos to Rutgers for supporting their community.
