Top recruit and Notre Dame commit posts video of him flushing Alabama letters down toilet

While a simple "no" to the University of Alabama probably would have sufficed, top running back recruit Elijah Hood made it pretty clear he doesn't want any more mail from the Crimson Tide.

Hood, from Charlotte, N.C., is a top running back recruit, ranked third among running backs by Rivals and 13th overall in the class of 2014. He wanted to get rid of some recruiting letters Alabama sent him, and what better way than to flush them down the toilet and post a Vine video of it to Twitter? (Click here to see the Vine video.)

That can't be good for the plumbing.

On his Twitter feed Hood seemed to take pleasure out of the attention he got for the video, which was tweeted with the #RollToilet hashtag. Now, following why Hood decided to do this on a Tuesday night isn't easy via Twitter, but let's try. Hood, who Rivals said committed to the Irish on April 28, indicated the Crimson Tide kept sending him the letters after he said he was going to Notre Dame:

Then he joked about the education opportunities at Alabama, compared to Notre Dame ("You dont play football at Alabama to go to college haha," he tweeted) and added this comment:

And eventually told everyone to chill out – he was just kidding around.

And then a little bit of backtracking:

Well, we didn't think we'd be hearing the term #RollToilet born tonight, so there's that. We will see if Alabama fans enjoy the joke as much as Hood is.

UPDATE: The story ended up how you'd guess it would, with some apologies the morning after.
