Notre Dame receiver T.J. Jones spent part of his offseason swimming with sharks

Notre Dame wide receiver T.J. Jones has gone against some pretty tough opponents over his career, but one of his summer activities included coming face-to-face with something even scarier than the Alabama defense.

For an offseason job shadow, Jones went swimming with sharks at the Florida Aquarium in Tampa. Using a contact through the alumni network, Jones got to work with the staff behind the scenes, eventually going on a cage-free drive. The senior said the offseason activity wasn’t all fun and games.

“It’s a workout, you burn calories,” noted Jones. “If you’re not properly hydrated, you cramp up. Even though you’re underwater and you feel weightless, after 30, 45 minutes of kicking around with that big tank on your back against the water currents, it’s definitely physically tough on your body.”

Congratulations to Jones - who will start for the Irish this season after his 50 reception, 649 yard effort in 2012 - for following through on an interest of his, but we're cool with chilling on the side of the glass without the sharks.
