LSU is a 2.5-point underdog for Monday's BCS National Championship against Alabama. It's the second time in the past two meetings that the Tigers have played the underdog role in this series. Even though the spread isn't as big as the first meeting — 5.5 points — LSU is playing up the "Us vs. the World" card in its latest motivational video.
The video is very well done. Gotta love LSU calling out all the talking heads who picked Alabama in the first meeting — a game the Tigers won 9-6 in overtime. I, like most people, just want to see a national championship-level contest and having the band Saliva set the soundtrack to another epic matchup between LSU and Alabama is an easy way to get excited for this contest.
Besides, LSU doesn't get to be an underdog very often — it even opened as the favorite in tonight's game when the first lines were posted last month — so it's got to milk it for all it's worth.
