Former Buckeyes coach Jim Tressel still isn't allowed on a college sideline, but the NCAA doesn't forbid him from stepping into the classroom.

Expanding on his role as Vice President for Student Success at the University of Akron, he'll be teaching a course entitled "General Principles of Coaching." Joining him in the classroom will be former Zips head coach Jim Dennison, who gave Tressel his first college gig back in 1974. Tressel won four national championships at Youngstown State before taking over in Columbus in 2001.

Tressel was fired from Ohio State amid scandal in 2011, and part of his punishment is a five-year "show cause" penalty that essentially bans him from coaching in the NCAA. He's worked as an administrator at Akron since 2012, and recently joined his 2002 BCS title team for a ten-year championship anniversary celebration, celebrating on the the field after the Buckeyes' win over Michigan last season.

No word on the syllabus yet, but Tressel plans to have current Akron coaches Terry Bowden (football) and Keith Dambrot (hoops) in as guest lecturers.
