TCU unveils new blood-streaked uniforms for season opener against TCU (Photo)

TCU wants LSU to know, there will be blood. Now, whose blood remains to be seen.

Friday afternoon, the Horned Frogs rolled out the new duds, which are black with purple and red trim. The red is meant to signify the blood the horned frog shoots from its eyes in self-defense.

Yep, we can’t make that up.

Probably the most interesting part of TCU’s reveal was that defensive end Devonte Fields was one of the models. Fields, the Horned Frogs’ best player, got in some hot water this offseason and will not be playing in the Horned Frogs' first two games. But hey, at least he got to try on the uniform. Methinks that’s some sort of Gary Patterson mind game punishment.

So, even if the Horned Frogs get run over by the Tigers next week, they’ll at least look good doing it and really, that’s all that matters to recruits.

This is the fifth installment in the Nike Pro Combat series for the Horned Frogs. They first broke them out in 2009, then twice in 2010 and again in 2011, and all of the uniforms have been sharp.
