BYU's visit to Virginia for the first game of the season was delayed by a thunderstorm just after the completion of the first quarter.
How hard was it raining? Well, hard enough for the water to creep into the Scott Stadium tunnels.
Don't walk in that water, BYU players, wet shoes are one of life's greatest scourges. Before the delay, both teams had traded futile offensive drives in a scoreless first quarter. BYU's Taysom Hill and Virginia's David Watford were a combined 7-17 for 58 yards.
