Vanderbilt wide receiver Chris Boyd struck a deal with prosecutors on Friday and became the first person indicted in the Vanderbilt rape case to have the charges settled.
Boyd is suspended from the team and was the fifth player indicted in the case involving a 21-year-old woman who was unconscious. He was originally charged with a felony count of tampering with evidence as an accessory, as he was accused of helping one of the players attempt to cover up the incident.
According to the Tennessean, Boyd pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge involving "criminal intent" to be an accessory after the fact. As part of the guilty plea, he's on probation for a year, and after the period the charge will be wiped from his record. He'll also testify against the four other players, who have all been since dismissed from the team, charged in the case.
