Brigham Young running back Jamaal Williams was discharged Sunday from Utah Valley Regional Medical Center after suffering a concussion and severe stinger in the third quarter of Saturday's rivalry game against Utah.
Williams was taken off the field on a stretcher in the middle of the third quarter after picking up a first down on a fourth-down run. He appeared to hit his head hard on the ground at the bottom of a pile at the end of the run.
Williams entered the game as the nation's third-leadng rusher averaging more than 160 yards, but he totaled just 52 yards rushing against the Utes and fell to 10th in the nation.
BYU plays host to Middle Tennessee on Friday night and Williams could play in the game depending on how he progresses throughout the week in recovering from both injuries.
