For Military Appreciation Day, North Carolina is breaking out the red white and blue on their helmets and on the field.

The Tar Heels will wear white helmets with the American flag in their interlocking NC logo. If they look familiar, it's because last season they did the same thing, but the helmets were their standard Carolina blue. The end zones will also feature a red white and blue pattern in the lettering, and there will be a special coin for the coin flip.

Once again, Carolina gets kudos for the helmet. There is such a thing as too much stars and stripes, but the inclusion in the logo is far from being overboard.
