Ohio State receiver Evan Spencer wasn’t prepared for the amount of feedback for the comments he made Monday regarding playing the nation’s top opponents.

Spencer’s foot-in-mouth comment created a buzz in social media and Spencer received some series heat from fans all over the country. Late Monday night, Spencer issued a statement on Twitter apologizing for his words.
I did not mean to disrespect any FB team today. I am confident in my team, and as is evident in the video, I was having fun ... — Evan Spencer (@LiLSpencee) November 12, 2013
...with the media answering their questions. I should have chosen my words more wisely. There was no intent to disrespect any other team.

Kudos to Spencer for owning the comments and not shying away from them. Cleveland.com published the video of Spencer and it’s clear Spencer is having fun and doesn’t mean any disrespect. He’s hyping up his team, which no one can blame him for, but he’s correct that he probably should have chosen his words a little better.
