Offense was hard to find Saturday in a Big Ten battle in rainy Evanston. With Northwestern leading Michigan 9-6 late in the fourth, the Wolverines managed to force overtime in dramatic fashion.

The Wolverines offense – an offense that had struggled all day -- took over at its own 22 with 2:18 to go and no timeouts remaining. With passes to Drew Dileo, Jeremy Gallon, and Devin Funchess, Michigan dinked and dunked its way past midfield and down to the Northwestern 30, but after a sack and an incompletion, the Wolverines faced a 3rd and 23 from the Northwestern 43 with less than 20 seconds remaining.

Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner found Gallon again on third down, but the 16-yard completion was well short of the first down. With no timeouts, the clock was winding down and the Wolverines frantically had to rush its field goal team out to attempt a game-tying 44-yard try.

With the game clock at two seconds, the Wolverines got the snap off to Dileo (check out his slick slide to get into position), the holder, and Brendan Gibbons knocked it home as time expired.

The field goal saved the game for the Wolverines, who ended up winning 27-19 in triple overtime.
