Those who follow college football are probably no stranger to former coach Rick Neuheisel’s musical exploits, and on Wednesday, he decided to write a song about USC interim coach Ed Orgeron.
And it is spectacular.
Neuheisel, in his best Jamaican accent, patterns his song after Harry Belafonte’s Banana Boat Song (or Day-O), and uses “Ed-O” as his chorus. We can’t make this stuff up.
Basically, the song champions Orgeron as the savior of USC, which, if you ask any USC fan right now, is the sentiment these days.
I think this song tops Neuheisel’s Johnny Manziel song and his “Born in the SEC” ditty. What do you think?
I have to say the Beetlejuice parody of Belafonte's song will always be my favorite.
