After missing Oklahoma's game against Kansas State, Damien Williams is off the team.
Coach Bob Stoops announced Monday that the running back was no longer with the team. He and wide receiver Lacoltan Bester missed the game Saturday against Kansas State after being suspended for violations of team rules. Now, in Williams' case, that violation was enough to merit being removed from the team.
STOOPS: "Damien Williams has been removed from the football team and Lacoltan Bester served a one-game suspension."

Williams has 553 yards and seven touchdowns this season. Last year, he had 946 yards and 11 touchdowns. In his absence, Brennan Clay torched the Wildcats for 200 yards in Oklahoma's 41-31 win. Stoops did not clarify why he was dismissed.
Bester is back on the team after the one-game suspension.
After Stoops announced the decision to dismiss Williams, former Oklahoma wide receiver Kenny Stills had some interesting tweets. Stills left Oklahoma after his junior season last year and was drafted in the fifth round by New Orleans.
Never seen a staff put so much effort into trying to sabotage people's careers

It is what it is. People make decisions and have to life w them. I just wish more effort would be made to guide not just get rid of them — Kenny Stills (@KSTiLLS) November 25, 2013
