A decision as to whether to charge Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston with sexual assault might not come until after the ACC title game.
According to Jeremy Fowler of CBSSports.com, the Florida State’s Attorney Office will need at least two weeks or more before it can determine whether to bring charges against the freshman quarterback.
Assistant state attorney of the Second Judicial Circuit Georgia Cappleman told CBSSports.com that the office is waiting for new information.

Winston has been accused of committing sexual assault in December of last year. Winston’s DNA matched DNA collected from the alleged victim’s clothing. Winston’s lawyer has claimed the sex was consensual, while the lawyer for the alleged victim has said the incident was definitely rape. Florida State’s Attorney Willie Meggs has been reviewing the case to determine whether there is enough evidence to bring charges against Winston.
If the timeline holds true, not only would Winston be available for the ACC championship game, he could also be in New York for the Heisman Trophy ceremony.
The timeline also creates quite a conundrum among Heisman voters who are basing their vote on whether Winston is charged. Heisman voting opened Monday and Winston is still considered the frontrunner.
