And it has nothing to do with the play on the field.
Heisman voters are waiting and watching – carefully – as the situation surrounding Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston, the Heisman frontrunner, continues to unfold. And as the timetable on whether Winston will be charged with sexual assault continues to be pushed back, voters might be forced to wait until the 11th hour to make their pick.
Until Florida State Attorney Willie Meggs reaches a decision, voters face quite the conundrum – penalize a man who might be innocent or reward a man who might be guilty.
It should be an interesting week.
Here's Dr. Saturday's Heisman Watch for Week 15:
Jameis Winston, QB, Florida St. Winston continues to be the Heisman leader and it's hard to find another player who has been as consistent as he has been this season. However, voters are still on the fence because the award is not just about performance, it's also about "integrity." As we've said all along, we're sticking with him as our leader until he's charged.

AJ McCarron, QB, Alabama The one thing that was lost in the drama of the Iron Bowl finish was McCarron's amazing 99-yard touchdown pass to put his team ahead in the fourth quarter. That's why McCarron should still be a legitimate challenger for the Heisman despite the fact that his team lost.
Stats: | Comp %: 67.6 | Yards: 2,676 | TD: 26 | INT: 5 | Rush Yds.: 21 | TD: 0 |
Jordan Lynch, QB, Northern Illinois Lynch just keeps rolling along, putting up ridiculous numbers and hoping that voters will disregard the fact that he plays in a weak league. He rushed for an unbelievable 321 yards, breaking the single-game rushing record by a quarterback – which he already owned. He has NIU 12-0 and one win away from its second consecutive BCS game.
Stats: | Comp %: 64.4 | Yards: 2,457 | TD: 22 | INT: 5 | Rush Yds.: 1,755 | TD: 20 |
Andre Williams, RB, Boston College A week after Andre Williams started to garner a lot of Heisman momentum, he flopped. Against Syracuse, Williams managed just 29 yards on nine carries before suffering a sprained right shoulder early in the second half. He also scored the game's first touchdown on a 26-yard run. Still, it's hard to discount how well Williams, the nation's leading rusher, has played this season, including averaging 299 yards in the three games prior to the team's season finale.

Ka'Deem Carey, RB, Arizona Carey hasn't garnered a lot of Heisman praise, but with several others dropping out, perhaps it's time to take a hard look at what Carey has done this season. He rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown against Arizona State this week, his 15th consecutive game with at least 100 yards. Carey has done some of his best work against ranked opponents. In four games against ranked foes this season, he's averaging 161 yards and has had at least one touchdown in every game.
