Ron Burgundy's scheduled SportsCenter appearance is a no-go after ESPN cancelled it in light of the announcement regarding the sexual assault case involving Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston.
Florida state attorney Willie Meggs is set to announce his decision about any charges for Winston at 2 p.m. ET and Will Ferrell's Anchorman character was to be on the 6 p.m. ET edition of SportsCenter to promote the ubiquitous movie 'Anchorman 2.'

Burgundy is still making his media rounds -- he hit up the Dan Patrick Show Thursday morning -- but it's the right call to suspend any hosting appearances on ESPN's flagship show. No matter the outcome of the announcement, joking about a sexual assault case would be inappropriate, to say the least.
Winston is named in a sexual assault case from December of last year. A DNA sample of his taken in November matches the one taken from the alleged victim. Winston's attorney says the sex was consensual. The case was reopened in November after an 11 month delay and the victim's family released a statement saying that the Tallahassee police detective assigned to the case told her that her life could be made miserable if she decided to pursue the matter.
