It’s nothing new for a kicker to have to deal with some rough weather conditions when attempting a field goal. Wind, rain and snow are not uncommon for games played in December, but what about an earthquake?

As Oklahoma State’s Ben Grogan lined up to attempt a 41-yard field goal, there was apparently a 4.5 magnitude earthquake northwest of Jones, OK, which is about 52 miles southeast of Stillwater.

Grogan can now say that he successfully kicked a field goal through an earthquake. His kick gave the Cowboys a brief 10-7 lead, but Oklahoma tied the game at 10 going into halftime.

The teams remained deadlocked heading in the fourth quarter, but Oklahoma pulled away late thanks to a 7-yard TD pass from Blake Bell to Jalen Saunders with 24 seconds left in the game. They added a garbage score with no time remaining after Oklahoma State went into desperation mode with pitches, winning 33-24.
