After Joe Paterno's passing, several coaches and athletes — both former and current — released statements regarding their thoughts.
While Paterno had a profound effect on those in college football, he also touched the lives of several students and fans who met him at everything from campus-run events to stopping him on the street. And Joe Pa was usually eager to chat or take a picture.

On Sunday, The School Philly, a website run by Penn State students, posted a YouTube video celebrating these photos of Joe with average Joes (and Janes). The photo memorial is set to clips of some of Paterno's famous speeches to students and fans and a song called "Let Me Tell You" written and performed by high school seniors Becky Dadi and Michael Bihovsky in an effort to raise money for THON, a Penn State dance marathon used to raise money for childhood cancer and Pediatric cancer research. Paterno's family has also requested that donations be made to THON in lieu of flowers at Paterno's funeral.
The School Philly also posted a series of photos from various businesses around State College that have honored Joe Paterno in their windows.
Obviously, this is only one of many tributes for Paterno, but it's definitely one of the better ones for demonstrating that Paterno was more than a football coach, he was a beloved institution on the Penn State campus.
