A few weeks after announcing his intent to transfer from Cal, quarterback Zach Kline has found a new school. According to the Portland Tribune, Kline will be staying in the Pac 12 with the Oregon State Beavers.

Kline was a backup to true freshman Jared Goff as a redshirt freshman at Cal this past season. He appeared in six games for the Bears, but with his chances at the starting job blocked by Goff, Kline decided to pursue other opportunities.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Kline will attend a junior college for the winter and spring terms, then transfer to Oregon State for the summer or fall term. Per NCAA rules, he’ll have to sit out next season and then he’ll be eligible as a sophomore in 2015. Kline recently informed the Oregon State coaches of his decision

"I just think from what the coaches have told me, I have a better opportunity somewhere else," Kline told the Bay Area News Group two weeks ago. "They put it to me straight and in a professional way, which I appreciate.

"I wish I could stay at Cal. It's clear Jared is the guy. They told me, 'If you want to start, you should go somewhere else.' I need to find a place where that's going to be the case," Kline said.
