Recruiting has become an art form.
It’s not just about buttering up a potential recruit, it’s about grabbing their attention. With recruits often having hundreds of letters pouring into their mailboxes, a coaching staff needs to do its best to stand out.
Enter Virginia coach Mike London.
London sent 2014 commit Jeffrey Farrar, a three-star athlete from Upland, Calif., a recruiting letter that just said: “YOU”
So i opened this letter from coach london and I’m not really sure what it means haha. This is a new one coach L #UVA pic.twitter.com/IoydqDAs5j

Farrar actually had to delete the tweet because he was getting some haters on Twitter, but he later acknowledged that he knew what the letter meant.
"You" Stands for me being apart of a good class coming in, so for you fans who live for this stuff. Relax, i know what that letter meant

London’s tactics must be working. He already has two five-star and one four-star recruit on his commitment list.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen some interesting recruiting letters surface. Mississippi State sent out one that simply said “You’re A Baller” and another that had a drawing of a can of “Swag.”
Thanks to The Key Play for posting the tweet.
