Those who were looking forward to watching Oregon State receiver Brandin Cooks continue to break receiving records in 2014, we have some bad news for you.

Cooks, the Biletnikoff Award winner and consensus All-American, has decided to forgo his senior season and declare for the NFL draft.

While the news is disheartening for all of us who enjoyed watching him in 2013, it isn’t exactly a surprise. Cooks broke numerous Oregon State and Pac-12 records, including single season receptions with 128 and single season yards with 1,730. The yardage ranked No. 1 nationally. He also had 16 touchdowns.

Cooks struck up a great report with quarterback Sean Mannion, who set the Pac-12-record for passing with 4,662 yards. They were the best quarterback-to-receiver tandem in the country and made defensive coordinators cringe when they faced them.

Cooks, who becomes just the fourth Oregon State player to ever declare early (Steven Jackson, Brandon Browner and Jacquizz Rodgers), finishes his Oregon State career with 226 receptions for 3,272 yards and 26 total touchdowns.
