If you’re anxiously awaiting Monday night’s BCS National Championship game between Florida State and Auburn, you have something in common with golf legend Jack Nicklaus.
Nicklaus’ grandson, Nick O’Leary, a 6-foot-3, 248-pound junior, plays tight end for Florida State and had a very productive season. O’Leary was a very reliable target for quarterback Jameis Winston as he caught 33 passes for 557 yards and seven touchdowns.
According to USA Today, when Nicklaus was asked what he was most looking forward to in 2014, he chose the BCS title game.
“I won’t have to wait long for that—Monday and the BCS Championship Game, and hopefully a Florida State win and national title. That would be a good way to start the year for our family. From there, I will just let the year play out and enjoy it as it comes,” he said.
