Reports came out Thursday that Texas had identified UCLA coach Jim Mora as one of its top targets to replace Mack Brown. The reports stated that Mora’s representatives had talks with Texas, but today Mora addressed the rumors.

“It is always flattering when someone is interested in you. But I am committed to being the UCLA coach,” Mora told the Los Angeles Times.

According to the Times, Texas officials made contact with Mora’s representatives in mid-December, but Mora told them he was not interested.

CBSSports.com’s Bruce Feldman is reporting that Mora was never offered the job and that Mora “appears entrenched in Los Angeles for the forseeable future.”

Mora is 19-8 in two seasons as UCLA’s coach, including this year’s 10-3 finish. Mora signed a six-year contract extension with UCLA in December after drawing interest from Washington.
