Former Texas coach Mack Brown watched the BCS Championship Game like many fans on Monday night and if you were following along to his Twitter feed, it was incredibly entertaining.
Brown live-tweeted the game and was prescient when Tre Mason scored with 1:19 left. Now trailing by four, Florida State had two timeouts to get down the field and score a touchdown.
3 time outs & 2:00 is forever. Score but not too fast?

Did they score to soon? 1:19 & 2 timeouts is forever. What about the 15 yd penalty on the extra pt? Big now. Do U kick it deep or pooch? — Mack Brown (@UT_MackBrown) January 7, 2014
Brown was also quick to note that Florida State's winning touchdown came in the same end zone at the Rose Bowl as Vince Young's winner in 2006. Though we must add that Young's TD officially came with 19 seconds on the clock.
FSU ended it in the Texas End Zone with 13 secs left. We had 16 sec left. Very similar

Probably fake punt & kickoff return won the game. No one talked about kick game for the month before the game. It is usually the difference — Mack Brown (@UT_MackBrown) January 7, 2014
That was the only BCS Championship Game that Browns' Longhorns won. Texas lost to Alabama in 2010.
We've felt both. There is no worse feeling than what we felt in 09 losing it to Ala. Losing stinks & U get nothing for being #2. Sorry Aub

Following the game, he also offered a couple suggestions that we can whole-heartedly get behind. While the College Football Playoff is undoubtedly an upgrade over the BCS, a bigger tournament would be great. And preseason polls are fun to talk about, but they unduly influence the rankings as the season progresses.
Good bye BCS & welcome the CFB Playoffs. Can't wait. Wish it was a 10 team playoff instead of 4, but we will get there in time — Mack Brown (@UT_MackBrown) January 7, 2014
I agree we should get rid of preseason polls & have the 1st polls come out the middle of Oct. then teams have earned their rankings! — Mack Brown (@UT_MackBrown) January 7, 2014
Preseason polls are just hopes & dreams created from the year before. They mean nothing. Teams change so much from year to year — Mack Brown (@UT_MackBrown) January 7, 2014
