After winning the BCS National Championship on Monday night, Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston gave a passionate postgame interview where he detailed what he said to his teammates before the game-winning drive. Tuesday he took to Twitter to respond to those who criticized him for his southern drawl.
For the people that criticize the way that I talk this is for y'all. The Florida state Seminoles are national champions! That is all.

The tweet can be perceived as a response to AJ McCarron’s mom, Dee Dee Bonner, who tweeted “Am I listening to English?” while Winston was being interviewed.

Bonner quickly deleted the tweet and later apologized and claimed that her initial tweet was not racist.
Any1 that knows our family knows we r far from racist. My tweet was not in anyway meant that way. I sincerely apologize if it offended any1

Sure Winston, a native of Hueytown, Ala., may not use correct grammar all the time, but he really is not difficult to understand whatsoever. And yes Dee Dee, you were listening to English.
And at the end of the day, even if some people didn't like Winston's interview, LeBron James has his back.
UN-Freaking-believable interview by Jameis!! Just shows part of the reason why he's SPECIAL! — LeBron James (@KingJames) January 7, 2014
